Why work in Western Mass?

Culture and History. Springfield and Western Massachusetts are diverse and growing regions. We are comprised of people who identify across all backgrounds including but not limited to race, ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, religion, and gender. We are inclusive and welcoming; we believe in our city’s history and the people who help build it and are welcoming to newcomers who want to be a part of our community.

Urban culture and natural scenery. Pioneer Valley has an abundance to offer during the days, nights, and weekends. Like the outdoors, hike, biking, and skiing - there are countless trails and options in the Northampton, South Hadley, and Amherst areas and Vermont is just an hour away. If you’re looking for a more urban scene, downtown Springfield offers various restaurants, bars, the MGM casino, and continues to grow.

Central Location. In addition to all the sights Springfield has to offer, it is easily accessible to all of New England - the Berkshires are one hour West, Vermont is one hour North, Boston is 1.5 hours East, and New York City is just 2.5 - 3 hours South. If you’re up for a short road trip, you can travel to New Hampshire or Maine in 3-4 hours to see the trees changing in the Fall and if you head four hours south, you’ll quickly find yourself in Philadelphia, PA.
