COMMUNITY UPDATE: ELE Tiered Focused Monitoring Review <May 24, 2021>
During the week of May 24, 2021, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of Public School Monitoring (PSM) will conduct a Tiered Focused Monitoring Review of Libertas Academy. As one part of its accountability system, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education oversees local compliance with education requirements through Tiered Focused Monitoring (TFM). All reviews cover selected requirements of the following areas: Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; The Equal Educational Opportunities Act of 1974 (EEOA); the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA); Massachusetts General Laws c. 69, 71A, 71B, and 76; and Chapter 218 of the Massachusetts Acts of 2002. Districts are reviewed every six years through TFM.
In addition to the onsite visit, parent outreach is an important part of the review process. The review chairperson from the Office of Public School Monitoring will send all parents of students an online survey that focuses on key areas of their child’s English Learner Educational program. Survey results will contribute to the development of a report. Please click here for more information and thank you in advance for your partnership in this process for our school.
